The Junior Level Piano program is a young beginner course suitable for children aged between 4 ½ to 7 years. A multi-sensory approach is used to develop the whole musician, where students learn to play by listening as well as reading. Classes incorporate keyboard playing, singing, listening and aural activities, reading, movement, percussion and theory. Attention to technique and posture and incorporated from the beginning and students are required to practise regularly in order to progress.
Classes are held most week mornings from 10.30am, weekday afternoons from 3.45pm and Saturdays from 9.00am*. Program runs for 45 minutes and operates according to Public School Terms. Student materials are additional and parent participation in class is required until the age of six. A piano or digital keyboard with a minimum of 66 weighted keys is required at home.
